Honestly this is all kinda surreal. I got into Visual Novels recently after being into anime for the longest time, and my first VN was YU-NO. Yeah I'm sure you can imagine how that went. Its been about 3 or 4 months since I finished the game and I found your... I suppose essay on the game and it felt nice that someone else was also playing it and caring about it but also that there was someone who could put the feeling I had into words I couldn't. Your way of writing vocabulary is frankly amazing and shows a level of though and understanding I find myself in awe of. Honestly you seem a little strange, this site is strange, this whole feeling is really strange. I feel like I've been transported back in time to a place I can't hope to understand feeling nostalgia for something I never actually experienced. I know I'm rattling but this is the most amazing thing I've ever seen on the internet it feels like a den of mystery and discovery I just want to sink into reading everything I can. Jesus I'm rambling again I guess I just want to get out all these feeling I can't describe at all these colors sounds and pixels all around me as I type. Anyway thank you for your time I love your work also this seems to be the only way I can find to message you really makes you seem mysterious lol.

Hello - just found your essay about YU-NO, which I first played (the Mages remake, on Switch) last year having read about it in Database Animals long before. I really enjoyed your analysis of it. The bit about the other world chapter originally being another fully-fledged ADMS maze really took me by surprise, because I had read that sudden narrowed focus as an intentional contrast to the branching and intrigue of the main story. I still think it's fruitful to read this way, but it was fun to learn the behind-the-scenes history. Anyway - I'm glad I found your page and excited to read more!
